Human presence in this weater blessed area goes back to thedawn of time, and marks of ancient civiliztions are still visible within the estate: caves inhabited in pre-historic age, a colombarium, Etruscan tombs and the remains of Roman farm are easily reachable with a short stroll. Within a stone throw from the farm is also situated the engraved stone marking the passage of the12th Meridian, landmark from which the estate takes its name. There is a footpath leading to the stone through the Fosso della caduta, a deep green cut through the fields, a real canyon running within the estate boundaries with vertical basalt and tuff wals formed by the millenary combination of vulcanic activity and water erosion. Meridiano 12 features riding schools as weel, with the oppurtunity of availing of guided tours: enjoy a horse trekking discovery of the area, including such beautiful spots as the Roman remains of Volsinii Novi, or Etruscan sites of Velzena and Pianezza, or maybe the medieval untouched town of Civita di Bagnoreggio, or even paleolithic village of Gran Carro, submerged at few meters from the lakeshore. For those who prefer driving, destinations such Rome, Siena, Perugia, Firenze, Mount Argentario, Montalcino, Todi, Orvieto, Saturnia, Pienza, Tarquinia, are only a confortable drive away.
